Marvel Rivals 30 FPS Bug Draws Criticism

Marvel Rivals Addresses Low FPS Damage Issue Affecting Certain Heroes

Players of Marvel Rivals experiencing reduced damage output at lower FPS settings, particularly affecting heroes like Dr. Strange and Wolverine, can expect a resolution soon. The development team has acknowledged a bug impacting damage calculations at 30 FPS, impacting several heroes' abilities.

The issue, confirmed via an official Discord announcement, stems from the game's client-side prediction mechanism. This feature, designed to minimize perceived lag, is inadvertently causing discrepancies in damage dealt at lower frame rates. While Wolverine's Feral Leap and Savage Claw abilities are specifically mentioned as affected, the full extent of the problem remains unclear. The effects are more pronounced against stationary targets.

Though a definitive fix date isn't provided, the developers are actively working on a solution. The upcoming Season 1 launch, slated for January 11th, is expected to address the problem, either completely resolving it or significantly mitigating the effects. Any remaining issues will be tackled in subsequent updates.

Despite this setback, Marvel Rivals, launched in early December 2025, continues to enjoy significant popularity, boasting an 80% player approval rating on Steam based on over 132,000 reviews. While initial concerns regarding hero balance existed, the overall community reception remains overwhelmingly positive.
