CDPR acknowledged weak gameplay in The Witcher 3

The Witcher 3, despite its widespread acclaim, wasn't without its flaws. Even dedicated fans acknowledged the combat system's shortcomings.

In a recent interview, The Witcher 4's game director, Sebastian Kalemba, addressed specific gameplay weaknesses from the previous installment. He highlighted gameplay and monster hunting as key areas demanding significant improvements. "We want to improve the gameplay and the monster hunting experience," he stated.

The director emphasized that the recently revealed Witcher 4 trailer aims to showcase the impactful and powerful nature of monster encounters, focusing on improved choreography and emotional intensity.

A substantial combat overhaul is anticipated for The Witcher 4. Reassuringly, CD Projekt Red acknowledges the need for significant improvements over past Witcher games, improvements likely to carry forward into future installments, especially given Ciri's central role in the new trilogy.

Furthermore, developers plan to include Triss's wedding in the game. In Witcher 3, the "Ashen Marriage" mission, originally intended for Novigrad, saw Geralt assisting with preparations, including monster extermination, procuring alcohol, and selecting a wedding gift for Triss, who develops feelings for Castello and wishes to marry him swiftly.
