Many Marvel Rivals players are experiencing extended shader compilation times on launch. This guide offers a workaround to significantly reduce this delay.
Addressing Slow Shader Compilation in Marvel Rivals
Game loading times can vary, but Marvel Rivals’ PC players are encountering unusually long shader compilation periods, sometimes lasting several minutes. Shaders are crucial for rendering 3D graphics correctly. While the issue isn't directly addressed by NetEase, a community solution exists.
The Solution:
A user on the Marvel Rivals subreddit proposed adjusting Nvidia control panel settings. Follow these steps:
- Access your Nvidia Control Panel.
- Navigate to the global settings.
- Locate the "Shader Cache Size" setting.
- Set the Shader Cache Size to a value less than or equal to your VRAM. (Options are typically 5GB, 10GB, and 100GB; select the closest option to your VRAM).
This adjustment reportedly reduces shader compilation time to seconds and resolves "Out of VRAM memory" errors.
Important Note: While this workaround is effective for many, players may prefer to wait for an official patch from NetEase. As of this writing, the developer hasn't publicly acknowledged the problem. This solution is recommended to avoid lengthy loading times.
Marvel Rivals is currently available on PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X|S.
