Concerns about weapon design similarity in Monster Hunter: World prompted questions regarding Monster Hunter Wilds. While initial glimpses of Wilds' weapons offered limited insight, Director Yuya Tokuda has clarified the design approach.
Tokuda stated that unlike Monster Hunter: World, where weapon designs largely maintained a base form with cosmetic variations based on materials, Wilds features uniquely designed weapons. This directly addresses concerns about repetitive weapon appearances. While some World weapons evolved into unique designs through upgrades, many remained visually similar. The image below illustrates this, comparing the final upgraded Aqua and Bone weapon sets to their Pukei-Pukei and Jyuratodus counterparts respectively.
In contrast, the slideshow below showcases the distinct designs of weapons seen in Monster Hunter Wilds, highlighting their unique nature.
