The official Saudi Arabian COVID-19 app: Tawakkalna
Tawakkalna, developed by the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), is the Kingdom's official app for managing emergencies and protecting public health. It played a crucial role in mitigating the spread of COVID-19.
Initially, Tawakkalna focused on facilitating relief efforts by digitally issuing curfew permits for both public and private sector employees, as well as citizens. This helped significantly in limiting COVID-19 transmission.
During the "Return with Caution" phase, the app introduced vital new services to ensure a safe return to normalcy. A key feature was the implementation of a color-coded system to clearly indicate users' health status, while maintaining stringent security and privacy standards.
