This strategic move, building on their acquisition of META Publishing in 2021, aims to support and amplify the development of narrative-focused games.

Owlcat has already partnered with two promising studios:

  • Emotion Spark Studio (Serbia): Developing Rue Valley, a narrative RPG centered around a protagonist trapped in a time loop within a remote town. The game explores themes of mental health and personal growth.

  • Another Angle Games (Poland): Creating Shadow of the Road, an isometric RPG set in an alternate feudal Japan, blending samurai culture, honor, and steampunk technology with tactical turn-based combat.

Both Rue Valley and Shadow of the Road are in early development, with more details expected soon. These titles exemplify Owlcat's dedication to innovative and engaging storytelling. The publisher plans to provide updates as these projects progress.
