Embracer has celebrated the remarkable success of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, announcing that the game is approaching the 2 million sales mark. Just a day after its launch, the game sold an impressive 1 million copies, and within 10 days, it nearly doubled that figure.

This medieval Europe action role-playing game sequel, developed by Warhorse Studios, was released on February 4 and is available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S. Embracer highlighted that Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 performed exceptionally well on Steam, achieving over 250,000 peak concurrent players. To put this into perspective, the original Kingdom Come: Deliverance reached a peak of 96,069 concurrent players on Steam seven years ago.

It's important to note that the actual peak concurrent player count for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is likely higher, considering its availability on consoles as well. However, neither Sony nor Microsoft disclose player numbers publicly.

Embracer, which owns Warhorse Studios through its subsidiary Plaion, described Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 as "initially successful" not only in terms of player and critic reception but also in its performance. Embracer CEO Lars Wingefors praised the dedication and hard work of Warhorse Studios and publisher Deep Silver.

Wingefors expressed confidence that the game will continue to generate significant revenue in the coming years, emphasizing the game's exceptional quality, immersion, and appeal. Warhorse Studios has outlined a comprehensive roadmap that includes updates and new content over the next 12 months, ensuring a continuously evolving experience for the community.

"We are immensely proud of the teams involved in the successful release of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, which has significantly outperformed our expectations so far," Wingefors added.

Beyond Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, Embracer is gearing up for the release of Killing Floor 3 later this quarter (January to March 2025). The company boasts over 5,000 game developers working on upcoming projects, with plans to launch 10 triple-A games over the next three financial years (FY 2025/26, FY 2026/27, and FY 2027/28). Eight of these titles will come from internal studios, while two will be from external studios.

In FY 2025/26, Embracer has scheduled the release of two triple-A games towards the end of the financial year. Additionally, the company plans several mid-sized releases, including Gothic 1 Remake, REANIMAL, Fellowship, Deep Rock Galactic: Rogue Core, Titan Quest II, Screamer, Echoes of the End (working title), Tides of Tomorrow, Satisfactory (console version), and the full release of Wreckfest 2, alongside other yet-to-be-announced mid-sized games.

Despite recent challenges, including layoffs and the sale of studios like Gearbox and Saber Interactive, Embracer still owns 4A Games, which is currently developing a new game in the Metro series.
