Senior Game Designer Ondřej Bittner highlighted a new stealth mechanic to GamesRadar: accumulating dirt leads to a "body odor" debuff, alerting nearby NPCs to the player's presence.
The introduction of "handgonnes," historically accurate early firearms, adds another layer of authenticity. Bittner (speaking with PC Gamer) emphasized the weapons' historical inaccuracy, long reload times, and inherent danger, acknowledging their potential as "meme weapons."

Free updates encompass a Barber feature, Hardcore mode, and Horse Racing (Spring 2025 release). Paid DLC will launch in stages: Brushes with Death (Summer), Legacy of the Forge (Autumn), and Mysteria Ecclesiae (Winter).
