Atomic Champions brings competitive block-breaking puzzles to the palm of your hand

Author : Ava Jan 17,2025
  • Atomic Champions is a newly released competitive brick-breaking puzzler
  • Take turns breaking as many blocks as possible and outdo your opponent
  • Utilise distinctive booster cards to get an edge and come out on top

When it comes to competitive puzzlers, I feel like there's a lot we've already explored. You've got your classic board games, your unusual takes such as PvP tower defence, and even the occasional competitive match-three! So it's surprising that I haven't seen many (if any) competitive brick breakers, until now.

Gameplay in Atomic Champions is simple, and not too complicated. You take turns blasting bricks as you would in any other entry in this genre, and aim to get a higher score than your opponent. But, a quick twist lets you use booster cards to alter your tactics, giving you a better chance at victory if you play it smart.

Atomic Champions promises to have plenty of depth to keep drawing you back in, even if you're not a total brick-breaker-mad player. Considering it comes from the developers behind the equally distinctive Food Inc, I'd certainly not doubt their ability.

There's little else to say, in a good way, about Atomic Champions. Although I do wonder whether or not it can have the depth it proclaims to have that'll keep people playing. Brick breaker puzzlers are indeed a personal favourite of mine, but I'm not sure if playing them competitively is right up my alley.

Then again, even if I'm not the target audience, I'm sure there are some of you out there who are. In this case, have at it, you can find Atomic Champions out now on iOS and Android for free!
