*League of Legends* has introduced an exciting new minigame called Demon's Hand, available in the client until the end of April. If you're familiar with *Balatro*, you'll find the gameplay mechanics quite similar, making it easier to dive into this thrilling card game within *League of Legends*.
League of Legends Demon’s Hand Set-Up and Getting Started
To get started, ensure your *League* client is updated to the latest version. Once updated, click the Play button, navigate to the game type menu, and select Demon’s Hand. This will launch you into the narrative introduction of the game mode, followed by your first round of the card game.

On the game screen, your hand of cards is displayed along the bottom row. In the bottom right corner, you'll see your health, coins, and critical hit percentage. Above this, there's a Sigil box where you can have up to six Sigils active at once, though you'll start with none. Remember, your health doesn't automatically restore after battles; you'll need to visit tent locations on the map to regain health.
The enemy card appears at the top of the screen, with its health and damage shown in the bottom right and left corners, respectively. To the left of the enemy card, you'll see an attack coin indicating how many hands you can play before the enemy attacks. On the far left edge of the screen, there's a book listing all possible hands you can play and their base damage in a standard round.
How To Play Demon’s Hand in League of Legends

In Demon's Hand, you deal damage by playing poker hands, each with unique names but following traditional poker rules. The ultimate hand, The Demon’s Hand, is equivalent to a royal flush. Here’s a breakdown of the hands you can play and their corresponding poker terminology:
- Solo = High Card (10 Base Damage)
- Dyad = Pair (20 Base Damage)
- Dyad Set = Two Pair (40 Base Damage)
- Triad = Three of a Kind (80 Base Damage)
- Tetrad = Four of a Kind (100 Base Damage)
- March = Straight (125 Base Damage)
- Horde = Flush (175 Base Damage)
- Grand Warhost = Full House (400 Base Damage)
- Marching Horde = Straight Flush (600 Base Damage)
- The Demon’s Hand = Royal Flush (2000 Base Damage)
In addition to base damage, the numerical value of each card adds to the total damage. Be aware that if the enemy has a special ability negating a specific suit, cards of that suit will be crossed out and won't contribute their numerical value to the base damage, though you can still play them.
Spice Up Your Attacks with Sigils
Sigils are another key element, purchased during store phases marked by coins on the map. You earn coins by defeating enemies, which you can then spend on Sigils. Each Sigil offers a unique ability, visible when you hover over them in the store or during a round. Some Sigils enhance specific hands, like boosting Dyad damage, while others might give you extra turns before the enemy attacks or reduce the damage you receive.
That's all you need to know to play the Demon's Hand card game in *League of Legends*. If this minigame isn't your cup of tea, keep an eye out for the upcoming April Fools skins to see what's in store for you in Summoner's Rift.
