Maximize your word count to achieve victory! Squares is a daily word puzzle game demanding strategy and skill. Players must complete squares on a grid to form words.
Gameplay: Connect letters in any direction—up, down, left, right, or diagonally—to create words. The objective is to uncover all words on the grid, maximizing your score.
Rules: Each letter in a word earns one point (a five-letter word scores five points). Words must contain at least four letters. Each tile can only be used once per word. Hyphenated words, proper nouns, offensive language, and uncommon terms are excluded.
Bonus Words: Bonus words encompass obscure, archaic, or slang terms. These words don't add to your score but appear in a separate list. You can continue searching for bonus words even after finding all the main words. Each puzzle also includes a "Word of the Day," a special, often longer bonus word. Finding it awards two extra hints!
Daily Puzzle: A new Squares puzzle is available daily at midnight.
Grid Rotation: Need a fresh perspective? Rotate the grid left or right using the buttons in the bottom-right corner. A different viewpoint may reveal hidden words.
Letter Usage Hints: After discovering 40% of the words, a hint is provided: a number beside each letter indicates how many words begin with that letter. The absence of a number means no words start with that letter. An orange letter signifies it's no longer used in the main words but might appear in bonus words.
Hints System: Each puzzle offers 3 to 5 hints (lightbulb icons). Using a hint reveals the first letter of a random word and its search direction. The number of hints depends on the puzzle's difficulty. Sharing the game link with friends grants one extra hint! Good luck and happy word hunting!
