Shift Up, the developer behind Stellar Blade, has announced a record-breaking year, with Stellar Blade generating $43 million in royalties. The PC version is projected to surpass the PlayStation 5 sales, particularly in the Asian market.

Game World Observer reported Shift Up's 2024 financial results, showcasing a 30.4% year-on-year revenue increase, reaching $151.4 million. Stellar Blade royalties alone contributed a significant $43.2 million to this impressive figure.

The company anticipates continued success, emphasizing strong expectations for PC sales exceeding those of the console release. While a Stellar Blade sequel remains under consideration, Shift Up plans to unveil its new title, Project Witches, in the first half of 2025. Project Witches, revealed in 2024 following the PS5 launch of Stellar Blade, is a separate project, pre-dating significant demand for a sequel.

Stellar Blade, a fast-paced action RPG where players control Eve in a fight to reclaim Earth from unknown invaders, achieved considerable success. Selling over a million copies, it received a 7/10 rating from IGN, praised for its core action gameplay but criticized for underdeveloped characters, a weak narrative, and frustrating RPG mechanics. IGN's review summarized the game as strong in key action elements but ultimately held back by weaker storytelling and RPG systems.
