Obtaining the Music Box in Phasmophobia
Like other cursed items, the Music Box has a 1/7 chance of appearing on any given map. Its spawn is random; there's no guaranteed method to obtain one. Only one Music Box can spawn per game. Once found, activate it by interacting with it.
Using the Music Box
Several strategies involve the Music Box. Once activated, it plays a song. If a ghost is within 20 meters, it will "sing along," revealing its location. Within 5 meters, the ghost will approach the Box. You can place the activated Box on the ground as a lure. The song's completion automatically closes the Box. Note that holding the Box reduces your sanity.
Triggering a Hunt With the Music Box
The Music Box can initiate a cursed or standard hunt, depending on these conditions:
- Throwing the active Box.
- Reaching 0% sanity while holding the active Box.
- The ghost approaching the Box for over 5 seconds.
- The ghost's proximity to the player holding the active Box.
For effective use, bring additional tools like Smudge Sticks to improve survival chances during a hunt. This allows for ghost identification and objective completion.
