NetEase Reveals Blade’s Arrival in Marvel Rivals Season 3.5 Update

Marvel Rivals Season 3.5 Introduces Blade Gameplay Next Week

NetEase Games has unveiled details for Marvel Rivals Season 3.5, showcasing vampire hunter Blade’s debut alongside major gameplay updates arriving August 8th.

The mid-season refresh follows closely after June's Season 3 launch featuring Jean Grey, demonstrating NetEase’s commitment to frequent content updates.

The Daywalker Finally Joins the Battle

Initially introduced as an NPC in Season 1, Eric Brooks’ Blade enters playable character status with his signature weapons:

  • Tactical shotgun for mid-range combat
  • Ancestral Sword for lethal finishing blows
  • Ultimate ability: Sword of Dracula team wipe

"Blade perfectly embodies our vision for deep comic-accurate combat," says NetEase Creative Director Li Wei. "His hybrid gameplay blends gunplay and sword techniques unlike any existing character."

New Team-Up Synergies Explained

Season 3.5 overhauls team dynamics with:

  • Duality Dance: Adam Warlock + Luna Snow combo
  • Vibrant Vitality: Mantis pairs with Groot or Loki
  • Expanded options for Chilling Assault and Rocket Network

The update phases out obsolete Guardian Revival and Atlas Bond team-ups.

Operation: Shield the Community

New player protection features include:

  1. Customizable text chat filters
  2. Enhanced voice chat monitoring
  3. Stricter Competitive mode penalties:
    • Longer matchmaking bans
    • Increased SR deductions
    • Compensation for affected teammates

NetEase plans additional toxicity prevention measures throughout 2024.

Coming Later This Month

August 22nd brings:

  • Resource Rumble: New objective-based mode
  • Throne of Knull: Symbiote-themed battleground

The development team confirms ongoing commitment to their accelerated seasonal roadmap, with Season 4 already in testing.

Marvel Rivals remains free-to-play on PC via official launcher and Epic Games Store. Players can currently unlock Blade through timed challenges or direct purchase.
