Indus picks up five million downloads and concludes first international playtest in Manila

Author : Andrew Mar 01,2025

Indus, the Indian-made battle royale shooter, surpasses five million Android downloads and 100,000 iOS downloads within two months of its launch. This follows a successful international playtest in Manila and a prestigious Google Play Award win for "Best Made in India Game 2024."

SuperGaming, the developer, aims to establish Indus as a leading Indian esports title, challenging competitors like FAU-G: Domination. The Manila playtest at the YGG Play Summit provided valuable feedback from international esports players.

Further solidifying their esports ambitions, SuperGaming launched the Clutch India Movement, featuring the Indus International Tournament. Running from October 2024 to February 2025, this tournament boasts a substantial INR 2.5 crore (approximately $31,000 USD) prize pool.

Significant Achievement, Further Growth Projected

While Indus's five million downloads fall slightly short of its ten million pre-registrations (a common occurrence), the impressive figures, coupled with the swift rollout of international playtests and an esports tournament, highlight SuperGaming's ambitious vision for Indus's future. The relatively lower iOS download numbers suggest a need for further penetration in that market segment.

SuperGaming's proactive approach, encompassing international engagement and a dedicated esports initiative, strongly indicates their commitment to Indus's long-term success.
