Hearthstone Is Dropping Its Biggest Mini-Set with Heroes of StarCraft

Hearthstone's upcoming The Great Dark Beyond mini-set, Heroes of StarCraft, introduces 49 cards—Hearthstone's largest mini-set yet!—featuring iconic StarCraft factions. Launching January 21st, this expansion includes 4 Legendary, 1 Epic, 20 Rare, and 24 Common cards, alongside numerous quests and challenges.

Unprecedented Scale and Diversity:

This mini-set surpasses previous offerings by including 11 more cards than usual. Each StarCraft faction contributes 5 multi-class cards, with Grunty as a special neutral addition. Players can acquire the mini-set by opening The Great Dark Beyond packs or purchasing the complete 94-card set (standard: 2500 Gold; all-Golden: 12,000 Gold).

Faction Spotlight:

  • Zerg: Led by Sarah Kerrigan, this swarming faction utilizes Death Knight, Demon Hunter, Hunter, and Warlock classes to overwhelm opponents with token generation strategies.

  • Protoss: High Templar Artanis commands this faction of Druid, Mage, Priest, and Rogue allies. Their focus is on powerful, high-cost cards that reduce in cost over time, enabling explosive turns.

  • Terran: Under Jim Raynor's leadership, the Terran faction (Paladin, Shaman, and Warrior) leverages Starship synergies, allowing for multiple Starship deployments per game. The highlight is the redesigned Battlecruiser with the Mech minion type. Possessing a Signature Starship card unlocks a Signature-art Battlecruiser.
