Introducing Agadon the Hunter, a formidable new adversary set to take the place of the Marauder in *DOOM: The Dark Ages*. Unlike an enhanced version of its predecessor, Agadon is a unique foe, blending traits from various bosses. This enemy can skillfully dodge, evade, and even deflect projectiles from the Doom Slayer. Players will face a challenging battle, as Agadon employs a range of combo attacks, compelling players to utilize a sawtooth shield, drawing inspiration from *Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice*, a game that has significantly influenced the developers. Confronting Agadon will serve as the ultimate test of the skills players have honed throughout the game, akin to a final exam.
The developers have chosen to maintain the concept of a challenging boss, believing that players are ready for an even greater challenge. The issue with the Marauder wasn't the difficulty itself but rather how it was presented and the lack of sufficient explanation. Many mechanics required to defeat the Marauder were not introduced earlier in the campaign, leading to some player dissatisfaction due to the sudden shift in gameplay pace. To address this, the developers are focusing on a smoother introduction of mechanics and better player preparation.
