While many *Monster Hunter Rise* achievements focus on epic hunts, one celebrates the smallest creatures. This guide explains how to obtain the "I Caught a Shooting Star" trophy/achievement.
How to Unlock the "I Caught a Shooting Star" Trophy/Achievement in *Monster Hunter Rise*
This elusive achievement requires capturing the Sandstar, a unique endemic life found only in the Windward Plains at night. This tiny, glimmering creature resembles a desert mouse with a long tail. Its nocturnal nature and small size make it easily missed.
To reach nightfall, use one of two methods:
- Fast Travel: Repeatedly fast travel between Windward Plains locations to advance time until night falls. This works early in the game once you unlock multiple fast travel points.
- Rest: After completing Chapter 3 and unlocking high-rank content, use Guild Points to rest at a camp and select "Nighttime" for the time of day.
How to Catch the Sandstar in *Monster Hunter Rise*
The Sandstar is fast, even for a sprinting Palamute. Consider gathering Screamer Pods beforehand. These can be obtained from Baunos, small winged monsters found in groups around Areas 11 and 13 of the Windward Plains (they often scavenge near carcasses). While not essential, Screamer Pods significantly ease capture.
At night, locate the Sandstar between Areas 11 and 13. Chase it, and once close enough, use a Screamer Pod to stun it. Immediately switch to your Capture Net and use it to catch the Sandstar. The "I Caught a Shooting Star!" trophy/achievement will unlock, along with the "Ribbon Dream: Amber" nameplate.
