Call of Duty: Warzone Temporarily Disables Popular Shotgun

Call of Duty: Warzone's Reclaimer 18 Shotgun Temporarily Deactivated

The popular Reclaimer 18 shotgun, a staple in Call of Duty: Warzone, has been temporarily disabled by developers. The sudden removal, announced via official Call of Duty: Warzone social media, has sparked player speculation regarding the cause.

Warzone boasts an extensive arsenal, constantly expanding with weapons from new Call of Duty titles. This vast selection presents balancing challenges, particularly when integrating weapons designed for different games. Older weapons may become overpowered or underpowered in Warzone's unique environment. This appears to be the case with the Reclaimer 18.

The official announcement stated the Reclaimer 18's deactivation "until further notice," lacking specifics on the reason or return date. The weapon, inspired by the real-world SPAS-12, debuted in Modern Warfare 3.

Player Reactions and Speculation

The lack of explanation fueled speculation, with some players suggesting a "glitched" blueprint, possibly the Inside Voices variant, was responsible for its overpowered performance. Videos and screenshots showcasing its unusual lethality circulated online.

Community response was mixed. Many players welcomed the temporary removal, viewing it as a necessary step to address potential imbalances. Some suggested reevaluating the JAK Devastators aftermarket parts, which enable dual-wielding of the Reclaimer 18, creating a highly effective, albeit potentially frustrating, combat strategy.

However, others expressed disappointment, arguing the action was overdue. Since the problematic Inside Voices blueprint is part of a paid Tracer Pack, they criticized the situation as unintentional "pay-to-win" mechanics and called for more rigorous testing before releasing such content.
