The push for a new Star Wars Battlefront game has gained momentum, with Andor actor Muhannad Ben Amor joining the growing fan demand.

Star Wars Battlefront 2 (2017) has experienced a remarkable resurgence lately, reaching its highest Steam player count in years despite DICE discontinuing support long ago.

Ben Amor, who portrayed rebel fighter Wilmon Paak in Andor, recently took to social media advocating for a fully-developed sequel to the beloved franchise.

"Star Wars needs to deliver Battlefront 3 immediately," the actor posted on Instagram (via Comicbook), sharing his impressive 469-hour playtime in Battlefront 2. "That's impressive, but stay humble," he added.

"I grew up with Battlefront 2 - been playing since day one," Amor continued. "Here's hoping we get Battlefront 3 soon."

The game's recent popularity surge coincides with Andor's climactic second season and May the 4th celebrations, sparking renewed interest in the Star Wars universe.

After maintaining a modest average of 2,000 concurrent Steam players for years, Battlefront 2 has recently approached its all-time peak of 10,000 simultaneous players.

Does this resurgence increase chances for Battlefront 3? Currently, DICE remains focused on developing their next major Battlefield title, slated for a full reveal this summer following ongoing player testing.

DICE might approach revisiting the franchise cautiously due to Battlefront 2's initial loot box controversy. However, public perception has significantly improved since then. While EA no longer holds exclusive Star Wars gaming rights, Respawn continues developing new adventures in the galaxy, including another Star Wars Jedi installment.

"Star Wars Battlefront 2's transformation rivals the Skywalker saga's most dramatic redemptions," noted IGN's 2019 re-review. "Today, it stands as one of the most exciting ways to experience authentic Star Wars gameplay."
