HoYoverse's latest offering, Zenless Zone Zero, brings a vibrant cast of characters to the forefront. Each character not only boasts a unique personality but also distinct mechanics that allow for dynamic team compositions. As with any combat-focused game, players are keen to identify the top performers, which is why we've created this comprehensive ZZZ tier list to rank all the Zenless Zone Zero 1.0 characters.

Updated on December 24, 2024, by Nahda Nabiilah: Tier lists are fluid and evolve with the game's meta. Initially, Grace was a standout Agent due to her strong Anomaly capabilities, which paired well with other Anomaly characters. However, as new Anomaly units have been introduced, Grace's utility has diminished, especially with the rise of Miyabi, an exceptionally powerful Anomaly unit. This Zenless Zone Zero tier list has been revised to accurately reflect the current character landscape and their rankings.

S-Tier

S-Tier characters in Zenless Zone Zero are the cream of the crop, excelling in their roles and synergizing seamlessly with their teammates.

Miyabi

Miyabi stands out as one of the most formidable characters in ZZZ, thanks to her rapid Frost attacks and devastating damage output. She requires some setup, but once players master her pattern and unleash her ultimate moves, Miyabi can dominate the battlefield.

Jane Doe

Jane Doe outshines Piper with her ability to critically hit with Assault Anomaly, resulting in significantly higher damage. Despite the slower pace of Anomaly compared to pure DPS, Jane Doe's potent Assault capabilities secure her a spot in the S-Rank alongside Zhu Yuan and Ellen.

Yanagi

Yanagi excels at triggering Disorder without applying Shock, as long as the enemy is affected by another Anomaly. This versatility makes her an ideal partner for Miyabi in ZZZ.

Zhu Yuan

Zhu Yuan is a top-tier DPS in ZZZ, known for her swift Shotshell attacks. She synergizes well with a variety of Stun and Support characters, with Qingyi and Nicole being her optimal teammates in version 1.1, as they help stun enemies and boost her Ether damage while reducing enemy DEF.

Caesar

Caesar redefines what it means to be a Defense Agent, offering not just protection but also significant buffs and debuffs. Her Impact scaling enables easy enemy stuns, and her crowd control abilities further cement her position at the top of the support tier list.

Qingyi

Qingyi is an exceptional universal Stunner, fitting seamlessly into any squad with an Attack Agent. Her fluid movements and quick Daze buildup through Basic Attack spam, coupled with a massive DMG multiplier on stunned enemies, place her near the top. However, she doesn't surpass Lycaon in Ellen's team due to the wolf's specific buffs for Ice characters.

Lighter

Lighter is a standout Stun Agent whose kit includes significant buffs, making him an excellent choice for teams with Fire and Ice characters. Given the strength of these units, Lighter easily earns a high spot on the ZZZ tier list.

Lycaon

Lycaon, an Ice unit specializing in Stun, relies on his charged Basic and EX Special Attacks to apply Ice and Daze, enhancing Anomaly reactions in combat. His ability to lower enemies' Ice resistance while boosting allies' Daze DMG makes him essential for Ice teams in Zenless Zone Zero.

Ellen

Ellen, an Attack Agent utilizing Ice, synergizes perfectly with Lycaon and Soukaku. Her powerful hits, especially her EX Special Attacks and Ultimates, make her a top contender in the ZZZ tier list when supported by Lycaon's stuns and Soukaku's buffs.

Harumasa

Harumasa, an S-Rank Electric-Attack Agent once given away for free, requires specific setups to unleash his full potential. His powerful hits make him a valuable addition to any team.

Soukaku

Soukaku is a strong Support in Zenless Zone Zero, excelling at buffing and applying Ice Anomaly. Her synergy with other Ice units like Ellen and Lycaon elevates her to one of the best buffers in the game.

Rina

As a Support, Rina offers substantial DMG and PEN, allowing her allies to bypass enemies' defense. Her ability to build Shock Anomaly and enhance Shock reactions makes her an essential teammate for Electric characters.

A-Tier

A-Tier characters in Zenless Zone Zero excel in specific scenarios but are generally strong in their roles.

Nicole

Nicole is a valuable Ether Support in Zenless Zone Zero, capable of pulling enemies into energy fields, which benefits AoE units like Nekomata. She also shreds enemies’ DEF and boosts Ether DMG, though her support is less effective for non-Ether DPS units.

Seth

Seth is an outstanding shielder and support but falls short of top-tier buffers like Soukaku and Caesar. His niche as a support for Anomaly DPS means he's less versatile compared to ATK buffers, which still benefit Anomaly teams.

Lucy

Lucy provides off-field DMG and a significant ATK% buff to the team lasting up to 15 seconds. Her DPS potential increases when paired with characters that activate her Additional Ability.

Piper

Piper’s effectiveness hinges on her EX Special Attack, which is among the best in Zenless Zone Zero. Her spinning attack builds Physical Anomaly, making her a great fit for teams focused on creating Disorder.

Grace

Grace excels at quickly applying Shock to enemies, triggering continuous DMG with each hit. While she remains relevant in Anomaly-focused teams, newer Anomaly Agents have pushed her down the tier list.

Koleda

Koleda is a dependable Fire/Stun character, adept at building Daze swiftly. Her synergy with Ben and other Fire characters makes her a solid choice for various team compositions.

Anby

Anby brings comedic relief to Zenless Zone Zero but is also a reliable Stun unit. Her quick combos are effective, though she's easily interrupted compared to other Stun Agents, which affects her ranking.

Soldier 11

Soldier 11 is straightforward yet powerful, dealing significant DMG with her Fire-infused Basic Attacks when using her Chain Attack, Ultimate, or EX Special Attack. While she's easy to play, other characters may offer more strategic depth.

B-Tier

B-Tier characters in Zenless Zone Zero have their merits but are outshined by other characters in similar roles.

Ben

Ben is the only defensive character in Zenless Zone Zero 1.0. While fun to play with his parry and punish mechanics, his slow pace and limited team benefits, aside from a Crit Rate buff, make him less desirable than dodging-focused playstyles.

Nekomata

Nekomata, an Attack unit, excels at dealing AoE DMG but struggles to find suitable teammates due to her Element and Faction. Her reliance on others to feed enemies to her limits her effectiveness, though future updates may improve her standing.

C-Tier

C-Tier characters in Zenless Zone Zero currently offer little to no competitive advantage.

Corin

Corin, a Physical DMG dealer, excels at dealing continuous extended slash DMG to Stunned enemies. However, she's overshadowed by Nekomata, who offers better AoE DMG, and Piper, who excels at applying Physical Anomaly.

Billy

Billy, despite his flashy attacks, lacks significant DMG output. He fits well in quick-swap teams but is outclassed by many other DPS characters, even within the Physical Attack category.

Anton

Anton's interesting Core Skill allows continuous Shock DMG, but his lack of overall DPS and single-target focus limit his effectiveness in combat, placing him at the bottom of the tier list.
