Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana masterfully introduces players to its bosses, each designed to enhance their understanding of the game's mechanics as they advance. Although not as lengthy as some other RPG narratives, this game packs a punch with its array of challenging bosses.

Initially, players might need some guidance to familiarize themselves with the gameplay, but facing Gyalva, Lord of the Blazing Prison, requires a solid mastery of combat, abilities, and other mechanics.

How to Beat Gyalva in Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana

- Boss Location: Zone of Lava, the Escapeless Abyss

  • Boss Health: 1200 (Normal Difficulty)

Following the defeat of Guilen, The Fire Eater, players will venture deeper into the Zone of Lava to confront their next formidable foe, Gyalva. The key to simplifying this battle is to position yourself at one of the two bridge ends.

Unlike earlier encounters, movement is severely restricted here, as the bridge's platforms are continuously disrupted by Gyalva's attacks. Players must leap towards Gyalva and employ wind magic to inflict maximum damage swiftly.

The Ys franchise, a jewel in Nihon Falcom’s crown, offers a rewarding sense of achievement with each boss vanquished.

Gyalva’s List of Attacks in Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana

Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana, a remake of Ys 3, enriches the franchise’s saga with new elements, including the unique boss, Gyalva. This adversary boasts a range of devastating attacks that can quickly wear down an unprepared player. Gyalva soars over the bridge, using its fiery assaults to dislodge and hurl bridge sections into the air.

To tackle this challenge effectively, consider upgrading Adol significantly before the encounter. Aim to reach at least Level 21 and enhance your gear. Defeating smaller enemies along the way will help minimize the grind needed to achieve this level.

Spinning Attacks

Gyalva unleashes two types of spinning attacks. In the first, it sweeps over a segment of the bridge, causing the affected plates to spin upwards. The second sees Gyalva flying straight across the entire bridge, flipping all plates in its path. Both can be lethal to underleveled players.

To evade the first attack, swiftly move to the unaffected side of the bridge. For the second, the safest spots are the ledges at either end of the bridge. Staying near one side facilitates quick retreats to these safe zones.

Avoid lingering at the very end of the bridge to prevent being cornered. Instead, maneuver across the bridge to land strikes on Gyalva, then retreat to the nearest ledge.

Fire Blast

Gyalva launches a fireball onto the bridge, propelling the plates upward. This not only deals damage upon impact but also offers a brief opportunity to attack Gyalva.

Bursting Torches

Torches lining the bridge sporadically erupt into flames, passing fireballs between them. These bursts can inflict damage, making it crucial to move through the area only after the flames have subsided.
