The new recommended retail prices for hardware are effective immediately, while the price for new first-party games will rise to $79.99 starting this holiday season. If you're considering purchasing an Xbox Series X|S or a new controller, now is the time to act. The higher prices are already reflected on Xbox’s official store, but you can still find the old prices at select retailers, at least temporarily.

The Xbox Series X is the flagship Xbox console, boasting the power to run games at stunning 4K resolution. As a proud owner, I find it outperforms even my PS5. I prefer the standard model, which supports physical games, listed above. However, if you're comfortable with an all-digital library, opting for the digital edition can save you $50.

It's available in 512GB and 1TB models. Personally, I recommend the 1TB version due to the large storage demands of modern games, and the high cost of additional Xbox storage.
