Xbox Game Pass Updates: Quest and Reward Enhancements

Author : Stella Feb 02,2025

Enhanced Xbox Game Pass Rewards Program Coming January 7th

Starting January 7th, Xbox Game Pass is revamping its rewards program, introducing Quests to PC Game Pass users and significantly altering point earning opportunities. This update prioritizes "age-appropriate gaming experiences," restricting access to the new features to players 18 and older.

Previously exclusive to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, Quests are now expanding to include PC Game Pass subscribers. Players 18 and over with active Ultimate or PC Game Pass subscriptions can access Quests and the Rewards Hub via their profile. Earning points requires a minimum of 15 minutes of playtime in any Game Pass catalog title (excluding those using third-party launchers).

Key Changes to Game Pass Quests and Rewards:

  • Quests Available on PC Game Pass (January 7th): Unlocking rewards on PC is now a reality.

  • New Quest Types:

    • Daily Play: Earn 10 points daily by playing any Game Pass game for at least 15 minutes.
    • Weekly Streaks: Play for at least five days a week to earn points, with multipliers increasing for consecutive weeks (2x for two weeks, 3x for three, and 4x for four or more).
    • Monthly 4-Pack/8-Pack: Explore the Game Pass catalog by playing four (or eight) different games for at least 15 minutes each month. The 4-Pack games count towards the 8-Pack.
    • PC Weekly Bonus: Earn 150 points by playing for at least 15 minutes on five or more days of the week.
  • Rewards Hub Access Restriction: The Rewards Hub, used for tracking and redeeming points on Xbox consoles, the Windows PC app, and the mobile app, will be unavailable to users under 18.

The updated system simplifies point earning with daily, weekly, and monthly quests, including the return of weekly streaks and point multipliers. Players can earn points daily through gameplay or by exploring diverse titles within the Game Pass library.

Microsoft emphasizes its commitment to age-appropriate content. Players under 18 will not have access to these new rewards. The only way for younger players to earn rewards is through parentally approved purchases from the Microsoft Store. This update aims to enhance the overall Game Pass experience for eligible subscribers.
