Conquer the Lifer in Wuthering Waves: A Comprehensive Guide
Wuthering Waves version 2.0 introduces the challenging Lifer, a unique Tacet Discord residing in the Rinascita region's Oakheart Highcourt maze. This guide details how to overcome this formidable foe.
Locating the Lifer
The Lifer awaits at the maze's heart in Oakheart Highcourt, beneath a massive tree. An accessible entrance lies southwest, near the Resonance Beacon. Players can climb or utilize the Flight function to reach it.
Mastering the Lifer's Board Game
Inside, the Lifer stands beside a six-piece board game. Players (black pieces) aim to create three-in-a-row before the Lifer (white pieces). Placing a black piece on the outer circle opens maze walls in that direction. Exiting preserves piece positions. While not mandatory for combat, the board game is crucial for debuffing the Lifer. Avoid winning before removing buffs; the Lifer will immediately attack.
Neutralizing the Lifer's Buffs
The Lifer boasts seven buffs; four are removable using Stakes of Imbalance, while three are permanent. A glowing yellow module behind the Lifer displays these buffs.
Removable Buffs (Fragility):
- Growing Loneliness: HP recovery after 2 seconds of inactivity.
- Desire for Escape: Significantly increased ATK and damage over time.
- Impending Stalemate: ATK increase stacking with each hit (clears after 6 seconds without damage).
- Decay of Time: Massive resistance boosts and HP increase.
Permanent Buffs (Stability):
- Chains of Confinement: Interruption immunity above 50% HP.
- Endless Game: Reduced Immobilization duration.
- Divine Garden: Repels and damages nearby enemies after taking significant damage.
Use the Sensor tool near the Lifer to reveal four purple lines leading to Stakes of Imbalance in outer maze rooms. Manipulate the board game to open the corresponding gates. Each room contains a winged statue and a Stake of Imbalance (white glow). One room requires defeating Tacet Discords, another involves breaking Friable Rocks, and the last is simply on a table. Place each Stake in the module near its statue to remove a buff; the line will turn yellow upon success.
The Final Confrontation
With the removable buffs gone, the Lifer becomes significantly weaker. Initiate combat via the board game or by selecting "Fight it out!". Its attacks pose minimal threat.
Rewards for defeating the Lifer include Premium and other Supply Chests (varying rewards for each subsequent victory). Re-enable buffs for a greater challenge (no achievement tied to this).
Lifer Achievements
- The Lifer's Salvation: Defeat the Lifer.
- The Ring of The Lifer: Obtain all nine Supply Chests (three victories).
- Limit of Intelligence: Win the board game against the Lifer.
- Alpha Go: Lose the board game 10 times.
For the board game, focus on disrupting the Lifer's attempts at three-in-a-row. It will eventually make a mistake.
