Wukong Sun will make its way to Nintendo Switch in a few days

The gaming world frequently sees projects attempting to capitalize on the success of popular titles. However, Wukong Sun: Black Legend goes beyond mere inspiration; it exhibits significant similarities to Black Myth: Wukong, raising concerns about plagiarism. The visual style, the protagonist wielding a staff, and the plot synopsis strongly resemble Game Science's acclaimed game.

Currently available for pre-order on the US eShop, the game's future is uncertain. Given the apparent copyright infringement, Game Science could pursue legal action, leading to the game's removal from the platform.

Wukong Sun: Black Legend's description reads: “Embark on an epic journey to the West. Play as the immortal Wukong, the legendary Monkey King, battling for order in a chaotic world filled with formidable monsters and perilous dangers. Explore a story inspired by Chinese mythology, featuring intense combat, breathtaking environments, and legendary foes.”

In contrast, Black Myth: Wukong is a critically acclaimed action RPG drawing from Chinese mythology. Its unexpected popularity, including a surge in Steam charts, is remarkable for a title from a small Chinese studio. Black Myth: Wukong boasts exceptional detail, captivating gameplay, and challenging yet accessible combat, blending elements of the Souls-like genre with newcomer-friendly mechanics.

The game's combat system and progression are thoughtfully designed, avoiding the need for extensive guides while still demanding strategic thinking. Visually stunning, the battles are characterized by fluid animations. The game's greatest strengths are its setting and visual design, immersing players in a captivating fantasy world with stunning character models and environments. Many gamers believe Black Myth: Wukong deserved a "Game of the Year 2024" nomination at The Game Awards.
