Warframe's TennoCon 2024 delivered a massive surprise: Warframe: 1999! This ambitious update plunges players into a retro-futuristic 1999, where a Y2K virus threatens Earth. Prepare for a thrilling ride through the Techrot-infested city of Höllvania.
A prologue quest, "The Lotus Eaters," arrives in August 2024, reuniting players with a beloved character and setting the stage for the main event in Winter 2024. This prologue introduces Sevatgoth Prime and their unique weapons. Completing "The Lotus Eaters" is a prerequisite for accessing Warframe: 1999.
Warframe: 1999 introduces the Hex, a team of six heroes piloting Protoframes – Warframes showcasing their human pilots. Explore Höllvania using the new Atomicyles, versatile vehicles capable of bullet jumps, drifts, and explosive maneuvers. Meet Arthur (Excalibur), Aoi (Mag), and Quincy (the new CYTE-09 frame, also coming to the Origin System).
The Hex boasts an impressive voice cast, including Alpha Takahashi, Ben Starr, Melissa Medina, and Amelia Tyler. Interact with them via in-game instant messaging for a truly authentic 1999 experience.
Prepare to face a unique enemy: On-lyne, a 90s boy band corrupted by Technocyte Coda and led by the charismatic Zeke (voiced by Nick Apostolides). Their infectious music is available on streaming services – check out their hit single, "Party of Your Lifetime"!
Fashion is king! Warframe: 1999 significantly enhances the fashion system, allowing two customizable loadouts and introducing Gemini Skins. These skins bring Protoframes like Arthur and Aoi to the Origin System, complete with fully voiced dialogue.
Beyond the core gameplay, Digital Extremes is collaborating with THE LINE to create an anime short based on Warframe: 1999, launching later this year. Additionally, high-fidelity Heirloom skins for Ember (available now) and Rhino (early 2025) are on the way.
Download Warframe now and prepare for the arrival of Warframe: 1999 this Winter!
