Assassin's Creed Shadows' "Claws of Awaji" DLC Leaks on Steam
A Steam leak has reportedly revealed details about the first DLC for Assassin's Creed Shadows, titled "Claws of Awaji." This expansion promises a significant amount of new content for players.
The upcoming Assassin's Creed Shadows, set in 16th-century feudal Japan, marks the franchise's first foray into East Asia. Players will control dual protagonists, Yasuke (a Samurai) and Naoe (a Shinobi), navigating a turbulent historical period. The game's development has been fraught with challenges, including negative feedback and multiple delays.
The leaked information, sourced from a now-removed Steam update, details "Claws of Awaji" as adding a new region, weapon type, skills, gear, and abilities. The DLC is expected to extend gameplay by over 10 hours. Pre-ordering the game will reportedly grant access to both the "Claws of Awaji" DLC and a bonus mission.
This leak follows the game's recent delay to March 20, 2025. Initially slated for November 15, 2024, then pushed back to February 14, 2025, the additional delay has disappointed fans. The ongoing challenges surrounding Shadows' development coincide with uncertainty surrounding Ubisoft's future, amidst rumors of a potential Tencent acquisition and underperformance of other recent titles.
