Kazuma Kaneko, the iconic designer known for his work on Shin Megami Tensei, Persona, and Devil Summoner, is back with an exciting new venture titled Tsukuyomi: The Divine Hunter. Developed by COLOPL, this roguelike deck-building game is set to launch on PC, iOS, and Android, merging Kaneko’s distinctive dark, mythological style with strategic card-based gameplay.

Tsukuyomi: The Divine Hunter is set in a futuristic Tokyo Bay within The Hashira, a towering high-rise that has been transformed into a sealed battleground. This structure is now teeming with gods and demons, and an elite national defense force, Tsukuyomi, has been tasked with reaching the top floor to neutralize a formidable target. The game's setting echoes the urban decay and supernatural horror themes prevalent in Kaneko's previous works, creating a gripping atmosphere infused with mythological and cyberpunk elements, set to captivate players upon its release later this year.

As a roguelike card game, Tsukuyomi: The Divine Hunter offers a dynamic experience where players must construct a deck of potent abilities while navigating a constantly evolving dungeon. Each run is unique, featuring different cards, dungeon layouts, and enemy encounters, ensuring no two playthroughs are the same.

Combat in Tsukuyomi: The Divine Hunter is fast-paced and turn-based, requiring players to make strategic decisions with each move. You have only one action per turn, which can be either an attack or a defense, making every choice critical to your survival.

The game also features branching paths and significant decision-making during dungeon exploration. Each choice you make has lasting impacts on your journey, influencing battles and resource availability. True to the roguelike genre, failure is harsh; losing a fight means starting over from the beginning, so strategic planning is essential.

Tsukuyomi: The Divine Hunter is slated for release around June 30th, though this date may be subject to change. Interested players can pre-register by clicking on their preferred link below.
