While visually impressive, the game's narrative unfortunately lacks a distinctive element. Recent soulslike titles have successfully reimagined classic tales, such as the relatively unfamiliar "Journey to the West" and the surprisingly dark retelling of Pinocchio in Lies of P. However, the Arthurian legend, being frequently revisited, fails to provide Tides of Annihilation with a similarly captivating, unique selling point.
