HoYoverse has unveiled an exciting new update for Tears of Themis titled "Ballad of the Dunes." This update marks a unique collaboration with Gansu Province's Culture & Tourism, merging the allure of detective work with the vibrant heritage of Dunhuang, a historic city on the edge of the Gobi Desert. This crossover event promises an immersive experience filled with history, romance, and mystery, set against the backdrop of the ancient Silk Road.
What Does Ballad of the Dunes Bring to Tears of Themis?
The "Ballad of the Dunes" event introduces players to a world where they can unravel mysteries amidst the cultural richness of Dunhuang. This event brings four new MR cards to the game, each featuring one of the beloved characters—Luke, Artem, Vyn, and Marius. These cards are inspired by Dunhuang's cultural elements, showcasing flying apsaras, intricate murals, and the iconic pipa played behind the back, reminiscent of ancient performers from the Mogao Caves. This collaboration reflects the historical significance of the Silk Road during the Western Han Dynasty (202 BC–8 AD), now given a digital twist in Tears of Themis.
Each card narrates a unique story, including Luke's "In the Footsteps of Silk," Artem's "Serenade of the Soul," Vyn's "Reverberation Through Time," and Marius's "Void of Creation." These cards also include Private Messages that explore a thousand-year journey, adding depth to the event's narrative.

What Are the Rewards?
From February 13th to February 20th, 2025, players can earn a variety of rewards by completing event tasks. These include Camel Bells, S-Chips, and other goodies. The main event challenge involves flipping cells on a game board to uncover these rewards. The highlight of the event is the chance to win the "Ballad of the Dunes" MR card pack. Players can choose one of the four MR cards as their final reward in each round. Those who manage to flip 100 cells will also receive the exclusive "Celebration – Dunes Namecard."
