Finnish game developer Supercell has made a surprising announcement: after canceling their RPG, Clash Heroes, they're reviving the concept as Project R.I.S.E. This isn't a simple relaunch, however.
The Full Story:
Clash Heroes is officially defunct. Following in the footsteps of Clash Mini, it's been shelved. However, Supercell is giving the game a new life with Project R.I.S.E., a social action RPG roguelite within the Clash universe.
Supercell's announcement video, featuring game lead Julien Le Cadre, directly addressed the cancellation of Clash Heroes, but emphasized the positive: Project R.I.S.E. maintains the Clash theme while shifting focus to a multiplayer action RPG experience.
For more information, watch the official announcement video:
Project R.I.S.E. shares DNA with Clash Heroes but is a completely rebuilt game. Players will team up in three-person squads to explore The Tower, a procedurally generated structure with unique challenges on each floor. Unlike the solo PvE focus of its predecessor, Project R.I.S.E. prioritizes cooperative gameplay and diverse character interactions.
Currently in pre-alpha, Project R.I.S.E. is slated for its first playtest in early July 2024. Interested players can register on the official website for a chance to participate.
