Stellar Blade's Festive Holiday Update: A Cozy Christmas in Xion
Stellar Blade is spreading holiday cheer with a festive update arriving December 17th! This update introduces new Christmas-themed costumes, decorations, a mini-game, and a new option to control seasonal content.
New Holiday Outfits and Decorations:
Eve and other characters receive stylish new holiday attire:
- Santa Dress (Eve)
- Rudolph Pack (Drone)
- I'm No Santa (Adam)
Eve's look can be further customized with a Santa Girl hairstyle and accessories like Snow Crystal Glasses, Wreath Earrings, and Sleigh Ear Cuffs.
Xion itself transforms into a winter wonderland, adorned with festive lights and decorations. Eve's camp and The Last Gulp also receive the holiday treatment, complete with new seasonal BGM ("Dawn (Winter)" and "Take me away").
A New Holiday Mini-Game:
A new mini-game makes its debut! While details are scarce, it appears to involve shooting targets on a holiday drone for special rewards.
Control Your Seasonal Experience:
The update introduces a setting to manage seasonal content, including the Nier:Automata DLC:
- Auto: Automatically enables/disables seasonal content based on the season.
- Disable: Deactivates seasonal content regardless of the season.
- Enable: Activates seasonal content regardless of the season.
Note: Changing this setting requires a restart from the most recent save.
Mixed Reception:
While largely well-received (with many players affectionately dubbing Eve "Christmas Eve"), some players expressed concerns about the frequency of event updates in a single-player game with a relatively short playtime (around 30 hours). The need to restart the game to fully experience the seasonal content is another point of contention.
