StarCraft Mini-Set for Hearthstone: Details and Release Date Revealed

Hearthstone enthusiasts, get ready for an epic crossover with the launch of the Heroes of StarCraft Mini-Set on January 21. This Mini-Set, the largest in Hearthstone's history, introduces a whopping 49 new cards, blending the worlds of Hearthstone and Blizzard's beloved StarCraft universe. Revealed during the Warcraft Direct on November 13, 2024, this expansion promises to bring a fresh twist to your gameplay with its unique blend of class cards, multi-class StarCraft faction cards, and a single factionless neutral Legendary card, Grunty.

The Mini-Set is divided into class-specific cards, with each Hearthstone class receiving three new cards. Additionally, the three StarCraft factions—Zerg, Protoss, and Terran—are represented by five cards each, tailored to specific Hearthstone classes. For instance, Zerg cards, available to Death Knight, Demon Hunter, Hunter, and Warlock, focus on summoning swarms of Zerglings and utilizing the Hydralisk for devastating damage. Meanwhile, the Protoss cards, accessible to Druid, Mage, Priest, and Rogue, emphasize mana manipulation to unleash powerful cards like the Carrier. Lastly, the Paladin, Shaman, and Warrior classes will enjoy new Starship mechanics, including Starship Pieces and a special Mech-type Starship.

While the excitement is palpable, the larger size of the Heroes of StarCraft Mini-Set comes with a higher price tag. A full set of these cards will cost $20 or 2500 gold, with the all-Golden version priced at $80 or 12,000 gold. However, fans can opt for faction-specific packs, such as Protoss, Terran, or Zerg cards, for $10 or 1200 gold each. These cards can also be pulled from The Great Dark Beyond packs, offering players multiple ways to acquire the new additions.

To celebrate the Mini-Set's release, Hearthstone is hosting two exciting streamed events. StarCast, on January 23 at 10 AM PST, will feature StarCraft legends TrumpSC and Day9 showcasing the new cards in action. Following that, HearthCraft on January 24 at 9 AM PST will see Hearthstone community creators representing each faction in thrilling matches and mini-games. Viewers can earn two normal and two Golden The Great Dark Beyond packs by tuning into these events on Twitch, so don't miss out on the chance to grab some free cards!
