EA is set to unveil an exciting new Star Wars turn-based tactics game at Star Wars Celebration 2025. Announced in early 2022, this untitled strategy game is being developed by Bit Reactor, a studio formed by veterans from Firaxis Games, renowned for their work on the XCOM series. Bit Reactor has collaborated closely with Star Wars Jedi developer Respawn Entertainment on this project, and fans are eagerly awaiting its reveal.
The first glimpse of the game will be showcased on April 19 during a live panel at Star Wars Celebration 2025. The panel will feature the lead development team from Bit Reactor, Respawn Entertainment, and Lucasfilm Games, as confirmed by the official event schedule.

While details about the new Star Wars strategy game remain scarce, including its setting and specific gameplay mechanics, the involvement of former XCOM developers suggests a tactical experience deeply integrated into the Star Wars universe.
In other news, Respawn Entertainment is also working on the third installment of its Star Wars Jedi series, though it won't be featured at this year's Star Wars Celebration. Respawn had been developing another Star Wars game, a first-person shooter rumored to involve a Mandalorian protagonist, but this project was canceled amid a significant EA restructuring that resulted in approximately 670 job losses. Additionally, Respawn canceled a multiplayer first-person shooter project in March, affecting an undisclosed number of staff members.
At Star Wars Celebration, Lucasfilm will also provide a sneak peek at the upcoming The Mandalorian & Grogu movie, slated for release in May 2026, and a first look at Star Wars: Visions Volume 3.
