Star Wars Outlaws launches its first story expansion today with the A Pirate’s Fortune DLC, available now on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC—and it's all thanks to one beloved scoundrel: Hondo Ohnaka.
Drew Rechner, Creative Director at Ubisoft’s Massive Entertainment, revealed that the DLC was inspired by the team’s love for Hondo Ohnaka, the charismatic Weequay pirate who previously appeared in Darth Maul comics and Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated series.
"Hondo was always a must for us—there were just too many passionate fans on the team," Rechner told IGN. "Pairing Kay’s scoundrel journey with Hondo’s pirate swagger felt like the perfect fit. Plus, having him as a potential mentor—or maybe a questionable influence—creates some really compelling dynamics."

While Star Wars Outlaws is confirmed for a Nintendo Switch 2 release on September 4, Rechner remained coy about any platform-exclusive features. "We’ll dive into specifics later—there’s more to share soon," he hinted.
Potential Switch 2 enhancements could leverage the system’s mouse-like controller functionality and its GameChat communication feature.
