Elliot Page to Reimagine Quantic Dream's Beyond: Two Souls as a TV Series

Elliot Page's Pageboy Productions has secured the rights to adapt Quantic Dream's Beyond: Two Souls into a television series, as reported by Deadline. The project, currently in early development, aims to retain the game's acclaimed non-linear narrative structure. Further details regarding casting and release dates remain undisclosed.

Page, who starred in the original game, described the experience as "one of the most challenging and fulfilling acting experiences" of his career. He emphasized the intention to create a compelling adaptation that resonates with both existing fans and new audiences, stating, "The story’s rich narrative and emotional depth offer us a fantastic foundation. We want to create a unique vision of the characters and their journeys that resonates with fans and newcomers.”

Matt Jordan Smitt, Pageboy's head of development and production, highlighted the team's commitment to honoring the game's legacy while incorporating fresh perspectives. He noted the importance of exploring "questions of survival and how split-second decisions can alter not just our lives, but the lives of others."

Originally released for PlayStation 3 in 2013, Beyond: Two Souls later saw releases on PlayStation 4 and PC in 2015 and 2019 respectively. The game, directed and written by David Cage, follows Jodie Holmes, a young woman with psychic abilities, and her connection to a spirit named Aiden. Its non-linear storyline and star-studded cast, including Page and Willem Dafoe, garnered significant attention.

David Cage, collaborating with Page on the TV adaptation, expressed his enthusiasm for the project, stating, “We are absolutely thrilled to collaborate again with Elliot Page on this project… Beyond: Two Souls is a very special game for millions of players around the world who were moved by the story of Jodie and Aiden, and their journey in life and beyond. I know that Elliot has all the talent and instinct to make it something really unique on TV.”
