Netflix's surprising move to offer Squid Game: Unleashed free to all players—even non-subscribers—before the holidays, has now been followed up with a clever strategy to engage both existing and potential Netflix users. Earn in-game rewards simply by watching Season 2!
What's in store for players? Starting January 3rd, a new map inspired by the Mingle mini-game from Squid Game Season 2 will be available. New playable avatars, including Geum-Ja, Yong-Sik, and rapper Thanos, will also debut throughout January.
Geum-Ja and Thanos will have special in-game events on January 3rd and 9th respectively, allowing players to unlock them. Watching episodes of Squid Game Season 2 will earn you in-game Cash and Wild Tokens. Watching up to seven episodes unlocks the Binni Binge-Watcher outfit!
Here's the January content schedule for Squid Game: Unleashed:
- January 3rd: The Mingle map launches, along with Geum-Ja. Participate in the Dalgona Mash Up Collection Event (until January 9th) by completing Mingle mini-games and collecting Dalgona tins.
- January 9th: Thanos arrives! Complete the Thanos’ Red Light Challenge (until January 14th) – eliminate players using knives to unlock him.
- January 16th: Yong-Sik joins the game as the final character addition in this update.
