Hazelight Games is thrilled to announce that its latest co-op adventure, Split Fiction, has continued its phenomenal start by selling 2 million copies within just one week of its release. Launched on March 6 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S, the game has quickly cemented itself as another triumph for the studio. Hazelight expressed their gratitude on social media, stating they are "blown away" by the overwhelming support from both new and returning fans.

Just 48 hours after its debut, Split Fiction had already captivated 1 million players with its dual-protagonist, sci-fi narrative centered around Mio and Zoe. The game's sales momentum continued strong, with another million copies sold in the subsequent five days.

As a co-op game, Split Fiction boasts a player base that likely exceeds the number of units sold, thanks to its innovative Friend's Pass feature. This allows a single purchase to grant a friend access to the game at no extra charge, significantly amplifying its reach among gaming enthusiasts. As the buzz around Split Fiction grows on social media, the 2 million sales figure is expected to climb even higher.

Hazelight's previous success, 2021 Game of the Year winner It Takes Two, followed a similar trajectory, selling around 1 million copies shortly after its launch in March 2021. By February 2023, sales had soared to 10 million copies, and by October 2024, the total had reached an impressive 20 million.

In IGN's Split Fiction review, the game was praised as "an expertly crafted co-op adventure that pinballs from one genre extreme to another," highlighting its dynamic and engaging gameplay experience.
