The Simpsons: Tapped Out Is About To Tap Out As EA Is Shutting It Down

EA's long-running mobile game, The Simpsons: Tapped Out, is closing its doors. After a twelve-year run, the city-building game will be unavailable for download starting October 31st, 2024, with servers finally shutting down on January 24th, 2025. In-app purchases have already been disabled.

The End of an Era

EA expressed gratitude to players for their decade-long support, highlighting the successful partnership with The Simpsons and The Walt Disney Company. The game allowed players to create and customize their own versions of Springfield.

One Last Chance to Play?

If you haven't experienced the game, now's your last chance. The Simpsons: Tapped Out lets players rebuild Springfield after Homer's disastrous mishap. You'll manage the town's reconstruction, interacting with beloved characters like Marge, Lisa, Bart, and even Fat Tony, unlocking various outfits and expanding to Springfield Heights. You can even run Apu's Kwik-E-Mart!

The freemium game regularly featured updates based on the show and real-world holidays. While the game is free, "donuts" serve as the in-game currency to accelerate progress.
