The new year in Pokémon GO brings a wave of exciting Pokémon, and Shroodle is the latest addition! However, unlike many previous releases, catching Shroodle isn't as simple as a wild encounter.
Shroodle's Pokémon GO Debut:
The Poison-type Shroodle arrives in Pokémon GO on January 15, 2025, as part of the Fashion Week: Taken Over event. Originally from Pokémon Scarlet & Violet, it's a relatively new addition to the Pokémon world. Post-event, Shroodle will remain available.
Shiny Shroodle:
Unfortunately, a Shiny Shroodle won't be available at launch. Expect its Shiny variant to appear in a future event, possibly a Poison-type or Team GO Rocket themed event.
Catching Shroodle:
Shroodle bucks the trend of readily available wild spawns. To obtain Shroodle, you'll need to hatch it from 12KM Eggs. This is currently the sole method. 12KM Eggs obtained from January 15th onward (12 AM local time) have a chance to hatch Shroodle. Its hatch rate is expected to be higher during the Fashion Week: Taken Over event.
Obtaining 12KM Eggs:
Since Shroodle is exclusively hatched from 12KM Eggs, here's how to get them: Defeat Team GO Rocket Leaders (Sierra, Arlo, Cliff) or Giovanni. The Fashion Week: Taken Over event presents an excellent opportunity to stock up, as Team GO Rocket will be more prevalent, and Rocket Radars easier to acquire. Remember, you can battle GO Rocket Grunts at any time to challenge the Leaders.
Evolving Shroodle into Grafaiai:
Grafaiai, Shroodle's evolution, also debuts January 15th. Unlike Shroodle, it cannot be hatched or found in the wild. Evolution is the only path to Grafaiai, requiring 50 Shroodle Candy. Hatch multiple Shroodle or make one your buddy to accumulate the necessary Candy.
