How to Become a Shinigami in Hollow Era
At the start of Hollow Era, you begin as a Soul Spirit. To transition into a Shinigami, or Soul Reaper, you must accept the initial quest from an NPC named Hurt Shinigami. She's calling for help, and once you commit to the Shinigami path, there's no going back—you won't be able to progress as a Hollow unless you later become a Visored. If you're keen on playing as a Hollow, check out our separate guide on Hollow progression.
During the selection of paths between Shinigami and Hollow, you need to act quickly. Choosing to become a Hollow involves breaking your chain, but if you opt for Shinigami, the chain will slowly start to break on its own. Every two minutes, a section of the chain breaks, and if you let it break completely, you'll automatically become a Hollow. In that case, refer to our resurrection moves lists for your Hollow endgame.
Hollow Era Shinigami Quests Guide
Your first quest as a Shinigami is to purify 6 Lost Souls, aligning with the Shinigami's duty to maintain the balance between life and death. After completing this, you'll receive your next quest from an NPC near Hurt Shinigami, requiring you to deliver a letter to a Doctor friend near the hospital.
This is an excellent opportunity to familiarize yourself with your powers. Consider purchasing a $1,000 random sword of power from a Urakara shop. If you have the funds, using the bus stop as a teleport/fast travel option for $200 is advisable, given the game's expansive map. Alternatively, you can purchase infinite fast travel for 149 Robux in the Robux Shop.
Subsequent quests are marked with a red crosshair. You'll need to defeat one Hollow, then five Corrupted Shinigamis, and continue until you reach level 15. Quests in Hollow Era include repeatable quests, progression quests, and those linked to specific paths like Vizard and Airwalk.
Full Soul Reaper Skill Tree and Reiatsu
To maximize your Shinigami Reiatsu, strategic investment of your skill points is crucial. The Reiatsu Skill Tree offers powerful Kido abilities exclusive to Shinigami characters.
Kido and Reiatsu Nodes are straightforward: Kido increases the damage of your Kido skills, while Reiatsu boosts your maximum Reiatsu output. Here are some Kido abilities and their descriptions:
Caja Negacion: Forms a beam of lightning from your finger. When combined with Electric, it spreads electricity from the target.
Shakkaho: A red energy ball forms in your hand, exploding upon impact. With Ragdoll, it can ragdoll opponents, and with Fire, it sets the foe ablaze.
Chain Bind: Summons energy chains to wrap and pull enemies towards you.
Prison of Light: Six light rods immobilize the enemy, ideal for agile foes.
Thunder Sear: A slow-moving lightning ball causes electric damage and explodes on contact, perfect for crowd control.
How to Get Shikai in Hollow Era
To obtain Shikai in Hollow Era, you must reach level 15 and visit Urihiro to start the Shikai Training quest. Your task is to defeat Urahara Kisuke for 1,700 exp, unlocking Shikai powers upon completion.
Warning: If your hero isn't fully optimized, defeating Kisuke at level 15 can be challenging. Consider grinding to level 25 or higher before attempting this quest.
Using Shikai
Upon unlocking Shikai, your weapon gains a random mighty ability. If you're not satisfied with the new power, you can re-roll it at Urahara Shop for cash.
The game features a Rage Bar that fills with damage taken or dealt. When full, press Y (default keybind) to activate Shikai, which ends when you deplete your Reiatsu or release the key.
Hollow Era Shikai Mastering
Your Shikai Mastery Level depends on the Mastery Points you earn by using Shikai Skills. Higher Mastery Levels reduce the Rage spent during active use and come with different aura effects and character appearances.
Mastery Level 1: 1-149 Points. Grants Transparent Aura.
Mastery Level 2: 150-299 Points. Grants a brighter aura with particles.
Mastery Level 3: 300-499 Points. Grants a Lightning boost.
Mastery Level 4: 500+ Points. Grants a zone of flying stones around you.
Becoming a Visored in the Hollow Era
Once you choose the Shinigami path, you can't switch to Hollow—unless you become a Visored. At level 50 or higher, you can pursue the Vizard fighting style at the Vizard’s Warehouse. This path allows your Shinigami to break the barrier between Hollow and Shinigami, using a Hollow Mask to switch between the two.
To become a Visored, you'll need Hogyoku, obtained by defeating the King of Hueco Mundo with a 1% drop rate. This is just the first step; next, you must acquire the Vizard fighting style.
Hollow Era Visored Mastering
As a Visored, you gain access to unique perks and buffs. Mask Control reduces the chance of being controlled by your Hollow, while the Visored node extends mask-wearing time and boosts damage output with Hollow powers.
Visored Abilities in Hollow Era
Hollow Mask: Allows you to control your inner Hollow and wear the mask at will.
Cero: Charges a beam of Reiatsu for significant damage.
Final Cero: Pins the enemy down and crushes them with a powerful Cero from above.
Vasto Rage: Temporarily transforms you into the mightiest Hollow type, unleashing your full potential.
What About Hollow Era Bankai?
Currently, Bankai is not available in Hollow Era. However, given the game's popularity, it's likely to be added in future updates. No release date has been confirmed yet, so we'll have to wait and hope for a swift Bankai update.
Hollow Era Tips and Tricks
If you feel disoriented in combat, use the lockup button to focus on your primary target. This is crucial in a game that can be buggy and laggy, especially when stuck by large Hollows.
Learn how to block enemy attacks early on; even low-level enemies can deal significant damage, and your vitality bar doesn't refill quickly.
Upon death, you'll lose some money, and the trek back to your quest targets can be tedious. Investing in bus teleport is highly recommended.
When collecting Skill Points, prioritize Strength and Speed initially. While Sword, Vitality, and Reiatsu are important, you'll benefit most from increased damage output and mobility at the start.
If unsure, press and hold J (default keybind) to reveal all markers around Karakura using your Reiatsu sense.
While Hollows are fun to play, they involve more repetitive tasks. If you prefer less grinding, the Shinigami path is more suitable.
This concludes our Hollow Era Shinigami progression guide. Remember, the game is still in development, so expect bugs and lag, even on high-performance systems. Until these issues are resolved, consider using Hollow Era codes to give yourself an early boost—you'll need it!
