Genshin Impact's Wriothesley Rumored for Version 5.4 Rerun After Year-Long Wait
A recent leak suggests Wriothesley, the Cryo Catalyst character, will finally receive his first rerun in Genshin Impact Version 5.4. This comes after a significant wait of over a year since his initial release in Version 4.1. The extensive roster of over 90 playable characters in Genshin Impact presents a scheduling challenge, making fair rerun distribution difficult. With limited banner slots and a high demand for character reruns, many characters face extended wait times.
While the Chronicled Banner aimed to address this issue, its effectiveness is debated. Even with the Chronicled Banner, some characters, like Shenhe, experienced exceptionally long waits before their reruns. Until the introduction of triple banners, these extended delays are likely to persist.
Wriothesley's potential rerun in Version 5.4 is particularly noteworthy. His unique Cryo hypercarry capabilities and strong performance in Burnmelt teams make him a highly sought-after character. However, his absence from Event Banners since November 8, 2023, has left many players eager for his return. The leak, originating from Flying Flame, indicates this return will occur in Version 5.4.
A Grain of Salt:
It's crucial to approach this information cautiously. Flying Flame's track record regarding Natlan leaks has been inconsistent. While their prediction of a new Chronicled Banner in Version 5.3 proved accurate, other leaks have been inaccurate. However, the recent Spiral Abyss buff, which benefits Wriothesley's playstyle, lends some credibility to the rumor.
Version 5.4 Speculation:
Version 5.4 is also anticipated to introduce Mizuki, potentially Inazuma's first Standard Banner character. If both Mizuki and Wriothesley are featured on Event Banners, the remaining slots may include either Furina or Venti, as they are the only Archons yet to receive sequential reruns. Version 5.4's projected launch date is February 12, 2025.
