Rumor: One of the Biggest Xbox Franchises Reportedly Coming to Switch 2, PS5

Rumor: Halo: MCC and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 Headed to PS5 and Nintendo Switch 2 in 2025

A recent report from industry insider NateTheHate suggests that Halo: The Master Chief Collection is slated for release on both the PlayStation 5 and the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. This purported port, along with a potential Microsoft Flight Simulator release (likely MFS 2024), is expected to arrive sometime in 2025.

Microsoft's initiative to expand its first-party titles to other consoles began in February 2024 with games like Pentiment, Hi-Fi Rush, Grounded, and Sea of Thieves. As Dusk Falls and Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 also joined this multi-platform lineup, further solidifying Microsoft's shift in strategy. Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is also scheduled for a PS5 release in Spring 2025.

NateTheHate's claims regarding Halo: MCC and Microsoft Flight Simulator suggest a significant broadening of Microsoft's multi-platform approach. The leaker anticipates a 2025 launch for both titles on PS5 and Switch 2.

This information is supported by another prominent leaker, Jez Corden, who tweeted that "way more" Xbox games will be released on PS5 and Switch 2 in 2025. Corden believes the era of exclusive Xbox titles is effectively over.

The future of Call of Duty on Nintendo platforms also remains relevant. Microsoft's ten-year agreement to bring Call of Duty to Nintendo consoles, announced in late 2022, likely awaits the release of the more powerful Switch 2 before any titles are launched.
