PUBG Mobile Esports World Cup: Stage One Concludes, 12 Teams Advance

The first stage of the PUBG Mobile Esports World Cup (EWC), held as part of the larger Gamers8 event in Saudi Arabia, has concluded. The initial field of 24 teams has been cut in half, leaving 12 contenders vying for a share of the $3 million prize pool.

For those unfamiliar with the EWC, it's a Gamers8 spin-off designed to showcase major esports titles in Saudi Arabia. PUBG Mobile is one of the featured games, and currently, Alliance leads the pack.

Following this weekend's intense competition, the qualifying teams will enjoy a one-week respite before the final stage commences from July 27th to 28th.

Global Impact

While the long-term impact of the PUBG Mobile World Cup on fan engagement remains to be seen, the event has generated significant buzz. It's important to note, however, that despite its name, this tournament isn't the largest on PUBG Mobile's esports calendar. With other major events scheduled for later this year, the EWC's prominence might diminish over time.

Nevertheless, the excitement continues! On July 23rd and 24th, the 12 eliminated teams will compete in a "Survival Stage," battling for two coveted spots in the final stage. This promises to be a thrilling showdown.
