If there was ever any doubt about the scale and prestige of the Roland-Garros eSeries by Renault, this year’s numbers make it crystal clear—it's one of the biggest and most competitive eSports tournaments in the world. A staggering 515,000 players from 221 countries competed across 9.5 million matches in Tennis Clash, all vying for a spot in the Final Stage. After intense qualifiers and fierce competition, only eight players remain.

The reigning champion, Alessandro Bianco, will return to defend his title, having first claimed victory in last year’s inaugural edition. He will be joined by seven other elite players: Hizir Balkanci—the winner of the first Open Qualifier—alongside Anyndia Lestari, Omer Feder, Adjua Thembisa Boucher, Eugen Mosdir, Bartu Yildirim, and Samuel Sanin Ortiz. These eight finalists will battle it out on May 24th at the Roland-Garros Tenniseum in what promises to be an unforgettable showdown.

New Format, Big Drama

This year’s tournament introduces an exciting new team-based format that adds another layer of strategy and intensity. The eight finalists will be divided into two teams, each led by a tennis legend. Former ATP World No. 6 and 2023 finalist Gilles Simon will captain one side, while former Wimbledon champion Marion Bartoli will lead the other.

Each team will compete in a series of head-to-head matches, with victorious players advancing to the Winner Bracket. Meanwhile, those who fall in the initial rounds won’t be eliminated just yet—they’ll enter the Loser Bracket, where they’ll fight individually for a second chance to climb back into contention. In the end, only one player will emerge as the ultimate Roland-Garros eSeries champion.
