Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Hosting Year of the Snake Mass Outbreak Event

  • Trainers can expect Silicobra, Ekans, and Seviper to appear in greater numbers during the event.
  • The future of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet in 2025 remains uncertain with the upcoming Year of the Snake.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet enthusiasts have an exciting event on their hands: a Mass Outbreak featuring Silicobra, Ekans, and Seviper, celebrating the Year of the Snake. This Snakelike Mass Outbreak event is set to last for just one weekend, giving trainers a golden window to encounter Shiny versions of these slithering Pokemon at an increased rate.

The event kicked off shortly after the conclusion of a Shiny Rayquaza Tera raid event, which marked the end of 2024. While Rayquaza, the Sky High Pokemon, can typically be encountered in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet after purchasing the Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC and progressing through The Indigo Disk, the rarity of its Shiny variant made the Tera raid a highly sought-after opportunity. Although Rayquaza's vulnerability to Fairy-type Pokemon made the battle relatively straightforward, the Shiny Rayquaza event was a fitting finale to the Year of the Dragon in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

As we transition into 2025 and the Year of the Snake, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players have another thrilling event to dive into. According to Serebii.net, the Snakelike Pokemon Mass Outbreak began on Thursday, January 9, at 7:00 PM Eastern and will wrap up on Sunday, January 12, at 6:59 PM Eastern. During this period, three Pokemon will be available in abundance: Silicobra across all land areas in the Paldea region, Ekans in the Kitakami region, and Seviper in the Terarium. These Pokemon will appear at levels ranging from 10 to 65, depending on the player's progress in the main storyline. To participate, trainers must connect to the Internet, access the Poke Portal from the in-game menu, and select "Get Poke Portal News" to activate the Mass Outbreaks.
