Get ready for a fiery showdown! Pokemon GO announces a Shadow Raid Day featuring the legendary Ho-Oh on January 19th, 2025. This marks the first Shadow Raid Day of the year, offering trainers another chance to capture this powerful Fire-type Pokemon.
This event builds upon the success of past Shadow Raids, introduced in 2023, providing a unique way to obtain these coveted Pokemon variants. Following the successful Shadow Moltres and Shadow Mewtwo events in 2024, Ho-Oh takes center stage.

- Date & Time: Sunday, January 19th, 2025, 2 pm to 5 pm local time.
- Featured Pokemon: Shadow Ho-Oh, with increased shiny encounter rates.
- Raid Passes: Spin Gyms to receive up to seven free Raid Passes (a $5 ticket boosts this to 15).
- Special Move: Teach your Shadow Ho-Oh the devastating Charged Attack, Sacred Fire (130 power in Trainer Battles, 120 in Raids/Gyms), using a Charged TM.
Enhanced Gameplay with Event Ticket:
A $5 event ticket significantly enhances the experience. Benefits include:
- Increased Raid Pass limit to 15.
- Boosted Rare Candy XL drop rates.
- 50% XP bonus.
- 2x Stardust from raid battles.
