Get ready for the Pokémon GO Lunar New Year 2025 celebration! Niantic has announced a vibrant event running from January 29th to February 2nd, packed with opportunities to snag Lucky Pokémon, Shiny Pokémon, and a host of other rewards.
This event coincides with Pokémon GO's ninth anniversary, and precedes the upcoming Pokémon GO Tour: Unova. Prepare for boosted encounter rates of Ekans, Onix, Snivy, Darumaka, Dunsparce, Gyarados, and Dratini in the wild, with increased Shiny possibilities! 2km Eggs will also feature Makuhita, Nosepass, Meditite, Duskull, and Skorupi.
Event Highlights:
- Dates: January 29th, 10:00 a.m. to February 2nd, 8:00 p.m. local time.
- Increased Odds: Higher chances of Lucky Pokémon from trades and becoming Lucky Friends.
- Boosted Encounters: Frequent wild appearances of Ekans, Onix, Snivy, Darumaka, Dunsparce, Gyarados, and Dratini (Shiny variants possible!).
- Egg Surprises: Makuhita, Nosepass, Meditite, Duskull, and Skorupi hatching from 2km Eggs.
- Research Rewards: Field Research and Timed Research offer Stardust, XP, Zygarde Cells, and Pokémon encounters. A paid Timed Research ($2) provides additional rewards including two Lucky Eggs and an incubator.
