The Steely Resolve event in Pokémon GO, running from January 21st to 26th, marks the highly anticipated debut of the Corviknight evolutionary line: Rookidee, Corvisquire, and Corviknight. This addition significantly expands the game's Galar region Pokémon roster.
The arrival was initially teased in December 2024's Dual Destiny Season loading screen, sparking player speculation. The Steely Resolve event fulfills this anticipation, offering players their first chance to encounter this Flying/Steel-type trio.
Beyond the new Pokémon, the event is packed with activities:
- Special Research: A new Dual Destiny Special Research questline with exclusive rewards.
- Field Research: New tasks offering various rewards.
- Increased Spawns: Boosted encounter rates for ten Pokémon including Clefairy, Paldean Wooper, and Carbink (some with shiny possibilities).
- Magnetic Lure Modules: Attracting Pokémon like Onix, Beldum, Shieldon, and Rookidee.
- Shadow Pokémon: A chance to remove Frustration from Shadow Pokémon using Charged TMs.
- Raids: One-star, five-star (featuring Deoxys and Dialga), and Mega Raids (Mega Gallade and Mega Medicham).
- 2km Eggs: Featuring Shieldon, Carbink, Mareanie, and Rookidee (shiny possibilities).

The event also includes a $5 Paid Timed Research. Several Pokémon will have increased shiny rates. The event promises a busy and rewarding experience for Pokémon GO players, further enhanced by the simultaneous GO Battle Week. The Steely Resolve event follows other recent additions, including Shadow Raids featuring Shadow Ho-Oh and Dynamax Raids with Kanto Legendary Birds. The Pokémon GO Community Day Classic is also on the horizon.
